WECO entered
the field of fabrication and load out of structures,
for the expanding offshore sector of the industry,
in 1996. Contracts were obtained for the fabrication
of standard well head tripods and similar structures
Subsequently WECO was successful in obtaining a
major sub contract from Eiffel.
Construction Metallique for the fabrication, load
out and sea fastening of Ubit K and Etim D Jackets
for Mobil's Wellhead Project. The Jackets, Boatlandings
and Piles weighed some 1200 tones and the project
was successfully completed on schedule with a first
class safety record. This was followed by the award
of the Parabe Jacket and Bridge from Chevron.
WECO continues to expand its activities in this
growing market while maintaining its excellent safety
track record. In addition to the foregoing, WECO
also carries out Platform repairs, maintenance and
hookup installations.
